Elizabeth and John received an inheritance in a rather roundabout way, This is being inserted here due to its unusual interest: Elizabeth Anderson, and John Anderson, Sarah, and John Jones, Sarah, and Jacob Mullen, and Thomas Nicholson, for 236 pounds paid by Richard Sanders, of Perquimans sold 100 acres on the northeast side of Perquimans River, "land that Samuel Nicholson, at the request of his father Christopher Nicholson, made over to his brother Joseph". Said Joseph in his will gave it to his brother John, who died without heirs, "in like manner", left it to Nathaniel Nicholson, he also having no heirs, left it to Benjamin Nicholson, "all failing of heirs". Said Joseph in his will had given said land, called "Log house" land", to his five brothers, (Sam'l, John, Nath'l and Christopher). Jan 17, 1742/3. Test' Joseph Robinson, Joseph Ratliff, Abram Sanders[17].
