Patton was born in 1815 in Sumner Co., TN. Patton's father was William Henry ANDERSON and his mother was Margaret "Peggy" PATTON. His paternal grandparents were Joseph ANDERSON and Mary ALBERTSON; his maternal grandparents were John Irwin . PATTON and Mary "Polly" WILSON. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Alfred Phillip, Albert Spencer "Bird", Samuel , James , Pacneil , John W. , Elizabeth, Mary , Rachael M and Margaret Rose. He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 71 in 1886 in Marion Co., TN .General Notes
