Sarah Jane Harris

Sarah Jane was born on July 6th, 1863 in Beaverdam, Hanover Co., Virginia.  Sarah Jane's father was George Washington Harris and her mother was Amazela Frances Sims.  Her maternal grandparents were Pettus Wayles Sims and Sally Thompson Kearsey. She had four brothers and eight sisters, named Solomon King, George William, James Berkley, Chastaine Pettus, Ida Irene, Arminta Elizabeth, Ann Rose, Mattie Lillian, Cora Elizabeth, Florence Amazella, Laura Mae and Mary Inez.  She was the second oldest of the thirteen children.  She died at the age of 67 on March 8th, 1931.
