Laura Mae Harris 
Laura Mae was born on September 29th, 1885 in Beaverdam, Hanover Co., Virginia. Laura Mae's father was George Washington Harris and her mother was Amazela Frances Sims. Her maternal grandparents were Pettus Wayles Sims and Sally Thompson Kearsey. She had four brothers and eight sisters, named Solomon King, George William, James Berkley, Chastaine Pettus, Ida Irene, Sarah Jane, Arminta Elizabeth, Ann Rose, Mattie Lillian, Cora Elizabeth, Florence Amazella and Mary Inez. She was the second youngest of the thirteen children.
