James Berkley Harris

James Berkley was born on January 7th, 1878 in Beaverdam, Hanover Co., Virginia.  James Berkley's father was George Washington Harris and his mother was Amazela Frances Sims.  His maternal grandparents were Pettus Wayles Sims and Sally Thompson Kearsey. He had three brothers and nine sisters, named Solomon King, George William, Chastaine Pettus, Ida Irene, Sarah Jane, Arminta Elizabeth, Ann Rose, Mattie Lillian, Cora Elizabeth, Florence Amazella, Laura Mae and Mary Inez.  He was the fifth youngest of the thirteen children.  He died at the age of 83 on June 11th, 1961.
