George William Harris

George William was born on February 1st, 1869 in Beaverdam, Hanover Co., Virginia.  George William's father was George Washington Harris and his mother was Amazela Frances Sims.  His maternal grandparents were Pettus Wayles Sims and Sally Thompson Kearsey. He had three brothers and nine sisters, named Solomon King, James Berkley, Chastaine Pettus, Ida Irene, Sarah Jane, Arminta Elizabeth, Ann Rose, Mattie Lillian, Cora Elizabeth, Florence Amazella, Laura Mae and Mary Inez.  He was the fifth oldest of the thirteen children.  He died at the age of 55 on November 12th, 1924.
