Asa Rankin

Asa was born on September 28th, 1802 in Danville, VT.¹ Asa's father was John Rankin and his mother was Lois Whitcher. His paternal grandparents were James Rankin and Margaret Witherspoon. He had five brothers and six sisters, named David, John, Edwin, Henry, Horatio, Marion, Abigail, Lois, Maria, Laura and Sarah. He was the sixth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 61 on May 9th, 1864 in Danvers, IL. He was buried at the Stouts Grove Cemetery - Danvers Township, IL.²²

‌Asa and Mindwell were married. They had two daughters named Laura and Leulla.
