Abigail was born on November 29th, 1795 in Barnet, VT.¹ Abigail's father was John Rankin and her mother was Lois Whitcher. Her paternal grandparents were James Rankin and Margaret Witherspoon. She had six brothers and five sisters, named David, John, Asa, Edwin, Henry, Horatio, Marion, Lois, Maria, Laura and Sarah. She was the third oldest of the twelve children. She died at the age of 31 on October 22nd, 1827 in Barnet, VT.¹
