Martha was born on August 21st, 1906 in 109 Valley St., Windhill, Shipley.1   Martha's father was William Thomas Motley and her mother was Sarah Elizabeth Ickeringill.  Her paternal grandparents were Charles Motley and Maria Elizabeth Smith; her maternal grandparents were John Ickeringill and Martha Smith. She had six brothers and three sisters, named John George, William, George, Herbert, Leslie, Arthur, Wilhelmina (Mayna), Lilian and Edith Eleanor.  She was the seventh oldest of the ten children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Charles, John and Emily.  She died at the age of 80 on August 18th, 1987 in Birkenshaw, W. Yorkshire, UK.2
