Tijmen was born in December 1776 in Kamerik and his baptism took place there on December 30th, 1776.1  Tijmen's father was Cornelis Pieterszn de Haan and his mother was Hilletje Jansdr van Vliet.  His paternal grandparents were Pieter Corneliszn de Haan and Aagje Jansdr van Rossum; his maternal grandfather was Jan Hermenszn van Vliet and his maternal grandmother is Jannigje Willemsdr Bekker. He had three brothers and ten sisters, named Pieter, Jan, Hermannus, Jannigje, Aagje, Claartje, Marrigje, Neeltje Cornelisdr, Hanna, Grietje, Willemtje, Emmerensje and Elizabeth.  He was the twelfth oldest of the fourteen children.  He died at the age of 12 on March 26th, 1789 in Kamerik.1
