Emmerensje was born in October 1774 in Kamerik and her baptism took place there on October 2nd, 1774.1  Emmerensje's father was Cornelis Pieterszn de Haan and her mother was Hilletje Jansdr van Vliet.  Her paternal grandparents were Pieter Corneliszn de Haan and Aagje Jansdr van Rossum; her maternal grandfather was Jan Hermenszn van Vliet and her maternal grandmother is Jannigje Willemsdr Bekker. She had four brothers and nine sisters, named Pieter, Jan, Tijmen, Hermannus, Jannigje, Aagje, Claartje, Marrigje, Neeltje Cornelisdr, Hanna, Grietje, Willemtje and Elizabeth.  She was the eleventh oldest of the fourteen children.  She died at the age of 74 on December 8th, 1848 in Woerden.1
