Pieter was born in January 1757 in Kamerik and his baptism took place there on January 1st, 1757.1  Pieter's father was Cornelis Pieterszn de Haan and his mother was Hilletje Jansdr van Vliet.  His paternal grandparents were Pieter Corneliszn de Haan and Aagje Jansdr van Rossum; his maternal grandfather was Jan Hermenszn van Vliet and his maternal grandmother is Jannigje Willemsdr Bekker. He had three brothers and ten sisters, named Jan, Tijmen, Hermannus, Jannigje, Aagje, Claartje, Marrigje, Neeltje Cornelisdr, Hanna, Grietje, Willemtje, Emmerensje and Elizabeth.  He was the oldest of the fourteen children.  He died at the age of 52 on February 27th, 1809 in Kamerik.1
