Elizabeth was born in May 1778 in Kamerik and her baptism took place there on May 3rd, 1778.1  Elizabeth's father was Cornelis Pieterszn de Haan and her mother was Hilletje Jansdr van Vliet.  Her paternal grandparents were Pieter Corneliszn de Haan and Aagje Jansdr van Rossum; her maternal grandfather was Jan Hermenszn van Vliet and her maternal grandmother is Jannigje Willemsdr Bekker. She had four brothers and nine sisters, named Pieter, Jan, Tijmen, Hermannus, Jannigje, Aagje, Claartje, Marrigje, Neeltje Cornelisdr, Hanna, Grietje, Willemtje and Emmerensje.  She was the thirteenth oldest of the fourteen children.  She died at the age of 78 on June 13th, 1856 in Zegveld.1
