Grietje was born in October 1768 in Kamerik and her baptism took place there on October 30th, 1768.1  Grietje's father was Cornelis Pieterszn de Haan and her mother was Hilletje Jansdr van Vliet.  Her paternal grandparents were Pieter Corneliszn de Haan and Aagje Jansdr van Rossum; her maternal grandfather was Jan Hermenszn van Vliet and her maternal grandmother is Jannigje Willemsdr Bekker. She had four brothers and nine sisters, named Pieter, Jan, Tijmen, Hermannus, Jannigje, Aagje, Claartje, Marrigje, Neeltje Cornelisdr, Hanna, Willemtje, Emmerensje and Elizabeth.  She was the eighth oldest of the fourteen children.  She died at the age of 56 on October 7th, 1824 in Harmelen.1
