Claartje was born in December 1761 in Kamerik and her baptism took place there on December 13th, 1761.1  Claartje's father was Cornelis Pieterszn de Haan and her mother was Hilletje Jansdr van Vliet.  Her paternal grandparents were Pieter Corneliszn de Haan and Aagje Jansdr van Rossum; her maternal grandfather was Jan Hermenszn van Vliet and her maternal grandmother is Jannigje Willemsdr Bekker. She had four brothers and nine sisters, named Pieter, Jan, Tijmen, Hermannus, Jannigje, Aagje, Marrigje, Neeltje Cornelisdr, Hanna, Grietje, Willemtje, Emmerensje and Elizabeth.  She was the fourth oldest of the fourteen children.  She died at the age of 68 on September 6th, 1830 in Harmelen.1
