Elizabeth, known as Betsy, was born on November 26th, 1864 in Spitalfields.1   Betsy's father was Abraham  Heiser and her mother was Sarah Levy.  Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Heiser and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were Barnett  (Judah) Levy and Elizabeth Levy. She had eight brothers and four sisters, named Samuel, Michael, Reuben, Harris, Joseph, David, Solomon, Lewis, Miriam, Julia, Rosa and Priscilla.  She was the eighth oldest of the thirteen children.  She died at the age of 79 in June 1944 in Edmonton.2

Betsy and Solomon were married in a religious ceremony on August 17th, 1886 in Bevis Marks.3   They had four sons and five daughters, named Dick, Alf, Louis, David, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Sarah, Kitty and Nancy.
