Abraham (Alf) Costa

Abraham, known as Alf, was born on January 19th, 1893 in Whitechapel.¹ Alf's father was Solomon Costa and his mother was Elizabeth (Betsy) Heiser. His paternal grandparents were Raphael Costa and Rebecca Levy (Lee); his maternal grandparents were Abraham Heiser and Sarah Levy. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Dick, Louis, David, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Sarah, Kitty and Nancy. He was the third oldest of the nine children.
