Winifred Mary Wootley

Winifred was born in June 1903 in Walthamstow, Essex.¹ Winifred's father was James Wootley and her mother was Alice Benstead. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Wootley and Eliza Roft; her maternal grandparents were James Benstead and Ann Wisbeach. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Percival, Edwin, Sydney, Herbert, Maud, Florence and Lily. She was the youngest of the eight children.
