Henry was born on April 28th, 1833 in Wilton, Wiltshire and his christening took place on October 23rd, 1833 in Saint Mary, Wilton By Salisbury, Wiltshire.¹²

Henry's father was William Turner and his mother was Elizabeth Cannings. His maternal grandparents were Thomas Cannings and Sarah Brown. He had six sisters named Sarah, Caroline, Mary, Eliza, Emma and Harriet. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He died due to He died from a malignant disease of the stomach. at the age of 60 on December 27th, 1893 in Stanley, Tasmania, Australia.¹

  Henry was born in Wiltshire & transported to Tasmania in 1847 for stealing a pair of boots.
  
  There are many similarities but I have very little information before Henry was transported to Tasmania other than his father was William & mother Elizabeth. I have found marriage certificates (married Emily Mears - Tasmania 1867) & death certificates (died Tasmania 1893) but nothing on his birth. My grandmother can recall some information but not much. The only information she can find is that he was christened in St Mary's Wilton by Salisbury in Wiltshire 28/04/1833
