Mary Ann Horncastle

Mary was born in 1897 in Shadwell, Middlesex and her christening took place on November 28th, 1897 in St Philip the Apostle, Stepney.¹² Mary's father was Thomas Horncastle and her mother was Mary Ann Clipson. Her paternal grandparents were James Raphael Horncastle and Maria Thompson. She had two brothers and six sisters, named Thomas, George, Eleanor, Violet, Hannah, Catherine, Annie and Beatrice. She was the second oldest of the nine children.
