George Horncastle

George was born on October 18th, 1911 in Stepney, Middlesex.¹ George's father was Thomas Horncastle and his mother was Mary Ann Clipson. His paternal grandparents were James Raphael Horncastle and Maria Thompson. He had a brother and seven sisters, named Thomas, Mary, Eleanor, Violet, Hannah, Catherine, Annie and Beatrice. He was the third youngest of the nine children.
