Devorgilla was born about 1215 in Fotheringhay Castle, Galloway, Scotland.  Devorgilla's father was Alan MacDonal De Galloway and her mother was Margaret of Huntingdon.  Her paternal grandparents were Roland MacDonal De Galloway and Elena De Moreville; her maternal grandparents were David Huntingdon and Maud De Meschines. She had two sisters named Christina and Marion.  She was the second oldest of the three children. She had a half-sister named Helen Hawise.  She died on December 28th, 1290 in Kemston, Bedfordshire, England.  She was buried in Sweetheart Abbey, Dumfrieshire, Scotland.


Devorgilla's family with John De Baliol

‌Devorgilla and John were married in a religious ceremony in 1233.  They had four sons and four daughters, named Alan, Hugh, John, Alexander, Ada, Cecilia, Eleanor and Euphemia.
