Euphemia was born about 1249 in Barnard Castle, Gainford, Durham, England.  Euphemia's father was John De Baliol and her mother was Devorgilla De Galloway.  Her paternal grandparents are Hugh De Baliol and Cecily De la Fontaine; her maternal grandparents were Alan MacDonal De Galloway and Margaret of Huntingdon. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Alan, Hugh, John, Alexander, Ada, Cecilia and Eleanor.  She was the youngest of the eight children.  She died in Fearn, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland.
