Roheisa was born about 1115 in Hedingham Castle, Oxforshire, England. Roheisa's father was Aubrey II De Vere and her mother was Adeliza De Clare. Her paternal grandfather was Aubrey De Vere and her paternal grandmother is Beatrix De Bourgourg De Gant; her maternal grandparents were Gilbert Fitzrichard De Clare and Adelaide De Clermont.
