Her paternal grandparents were Richard Fitzgilbert De Clare and Rohese Giffard; her maternal grandparents were Hugh De Clermont and Margaret De Roucy. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Richard Fitzgilbert, Walter, Hervy, Balwin Fitzgilbert, Gilbert, John Fitzgilbert, Isabel, Agnes and Rohese.
