Isabel was born on July 26th, 1400 in Cardiff, Wales or Elmley, Worcester, England.  Isabel's father was Thomas le Despencer and her mother was Constance Plantagenet of Langley.  Her paternal grandparents were Edward le Despencer and Elizabeth de Burghersh; her maternal grandparents were Edmund Plantagenet of Langley and Isabel of Castile and Leon. She had three brothers and a sister, named Richard, Edward, Hugh and Elizabeth.  She was the youngest of the five children. She had a half-sister named Eleanor.  She died at the age of 39 on December 27th, 1439 in Friars Minoresses, London, Middlesex, England.  She was buried in Tewkesbury Abbey, Gloucester, England.
