Aymer was born about 1270.  Aymer's father was William de Valence and his mother was Johanna de Munchesni.  His paternal grandparents were Hugh X Lusignan le Brun de la Marche and Isabella de Taillefer of Angouleme; his maternal grandparents were Warin II de Munchesni and Joane (Johanna) Marshal. He had two brothers and four sisters, named John, William le Jeune, Agnes, Joan, Margaret and Isabel.  He was the second youngest of the seven children.  He died on June 23rd, 1324 in France.  He was buried on August 1st, 1324 in Westminster Abbey, London, England.
