Catherine was born in Raby, Durham, England.  Catherine's father was Ralph de Neville and her mother was Joan de Beaufort.  Her paternal grandparents were John de Neville and Maud de Percy; her maternal grandparents were John Plantagenet of Gaunt and Catherine Swynford Roet. She had eight brothers and four sisters, named Henry, Richard, William, Thomas, Robert, George, Cuthbert, Edward, Eleanor, Anne, Cicely and Joan. She had two half-brothers and nine half-sisters, named John de Neville of, Ralph de Neville of, Alice, Anastasia, Anne, Elizabeth, Maude, Philippa, Margaret, Elizabeth and Mary.  She died after 1483.


Catherine's first family with John V de Mowbray

‌Catherine and John V were married in a religious ceremony in 1411.  They had a son named John VI.


Catherine's second family with Thomas Strangeways

‌Catherine and Thomas were married in a religious ceremony after October 1432.  They had two sons and three daughters, named Thomas, Dufort Travers, Catherine, Isabel and Joan.
