John was born about 1445 in Grafton Regis,  Northamptonshire, England.  John's father was Richard Wydeville and his mother was Jacquetta de St. Pol of Luxemburg.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Wydeville and Elizabeth Joan Bedlisgate; his maternal grandparents were Pierre I of Luxemburg and Marguerite de Baux del Balso. He had eight brothers and seven sisters, named Anthony, Lionel, Edward, John, Lewis, Martha, Thomas, Richard, Elizabeth, Margaret, Anne, Jacquetta, Eleanor, Catherine and Mary.  He was the sixth oldest of the sixteen children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Richard and Mary.  He died on August 12th, 1469 in Near Coventry, Northamptonshire, England.
