Alfonse de Castilla y Mesa was born about 1204.  Alfonse de Castilla y Mesa's father was Alfonso IX el Barboro of Castile and Leon and his mother was Berengaria Alfonsez de Castile.  His paternal grandparents were Ferdinand II of Leon and Urraca of Portugal; his maternal grandparents were Alfonso VIII the Noble and Good of Castile and Eleanor Plantagenet. He had a brother and three sisters, named Ferdinand III the Saint of Castile &, Berengaria Infanta of Castile &, Constanza Infanta of and Leonor Infanta of.  He was the youngest of the five children. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named UNKNOWN, Sancha Infanta of, Dulce of and Urraca Alfonsez.  He died in 1272.
