Berengaria Infanta of Castile & was born about 1199 in Leon, Spain.  Berengaria Infanta of Castile &'s father was Alfonso IX el Barboro of Castile and Leon and her mother was Berengaria Alfonsez de Castile.  Her paternal grandparents were Ferdinand II of Leon and Urraca of Portugal; her maternal grandparents were Alfonso VIII the Noble and Good of Castile and Eleanor Plantagenet. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Ferdinand III the Saint of Castile &, Alfonse de Castilla y Mesa, Constanza Infanta of and Leonor Infanta of.  She was the oldest of the five children. She had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named UNKNOWN, Sancha Infanta of, Dulce of and Urraca Alfonsez.  She died on April 12th, 1237.

‌Berengaria Infanta of Castile & and John I were married in a religious ceremony in 1224 in Toledo.  They had three sons and a daughter, named Alfons d'Acre, Jean, Louis d'Acre and Marie.
