James HANKINS

James was born about 1816.  James' father was William HANKINS and his mother was Elizabeth McCARTY.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Hankins and Nancy Cain. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Joseph, William, John C., Moses, Aaron, Burillah, Martha Ann and Sarah Ann.  He was the third oldest of the nine children.  He died after 1880.

‌James and Sarah were married in a religious ceremony on October 22nd, 1836 in Jefferson,IN.  They had three sons and a daughter, named Oliver, David H., Ensley V. and Mary Ann.
