James Gwin 
James was born on June 27th, 1774. James' father was David Gwin and his mother was Jane Carlisle. His paternal grandparents were Robert Gwin and Jane Or Jean Kinkead; his maternal grandparents were James Carlisle and Nancy Rachael Campbell. He had three brothers and five sisters, named John, Robert Moses, John, Nancy, Mary Elizabeth, Elizabeth, Jane and Sarah. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He had two half-brothers and five half-sisters, named David Sitlington, Samuel R, Isabella, Margaret, Rachel Viola, Susan Henderson and Salley. He died at the age of 70 in 1844.General Notes

If personal estate is not sufficent to pay debts, the tract of land lnown as the Dinwiddie survey of 101 acres which joins the land of Matthew Benson and which is included in the bequest to my sons James, Samuel, and John, is to be sold to pay debts & residue of sale goes to those 3 sons
my eight day clock to remain in my dwelling and whichever of my sons get the mansion house gets the clock.
