John Gwin 
John was born on April 13th, 1769. John's father was David Gwin and his mother was Jane Carlisle. His paternal grandparents were Robert Gwin and Jane Or Jean Kinkead; his maternal grandparents were James Carlisle and Nancy Rachael Campbell. He had three brothers and five sisters, named James, Robert Moses, John, Nancy, Mary Elizabeth, Elizabeth, Jane and Sarah. He was the oldest of the nine children. He had two half-brothers and five half-sisters, named David Sitlington, Samuel R, Isabella, Margaret, Rachel Viola, Susan Henderson and Salley.-
