Robert Moses was born on March 10th, 1785 in ,Bath,VA. Robert Moses' father was David Gwin and his mother was Jane Carlisle. His paternal grandparents were Robert Gwin and Jane Or Jean Kinkead; his maternal grandparents were James Carlisle and Nancy Rachael Campbell. He had three brothers and five sisters, named John, James, John, Nancy, Mary Elizabeth, Elizabeth, Jane and Sarah. He was the second youngest of the nine children. He had two half-brothers and five half-sisters, named David Sitlington, Samuel R, Isabella, Margaret, Rachel Viola, Susan Henderson and Salley. He died at the age of 84 in 1869 in ,Bath,VA. He was buried in Tomahawk cemetery.-
