Benjamin Milton was born in 1893 in Bairnsdale, Vic. Benjamin Milton's father was Peter Robert CHALLEN and his mother was Florence Sharp PEARSON.  His paternal grandparents were Charles William CHALLEN and Jane MERRETT. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Robert William, Matthew Bradbury, Ernest Blandforth, Richard Linton, Arthur Browning, Oliver Leopold, Florence Elizabeth, Alice Maud, Grace, Emily Jane, Lucy Matilda and Daisy Eunice.  He was the youngest of the thirteen children.  He died at the age of 78 in 1971.
