Michael was born on August 9th, 1799 in Almondbury and his christening took place there on October 6th, 1799.1  Michael's father was George Stocks and his mother was Mary Blackburn.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Stocks and Elizabeth Perkin; his maternal grandparents were Michael Blackburn and Hannah Scover. He had two brothers and six sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Benjamin, Job, Betty, Esther, Susannah, Esther, Ruth, Ruth and <child>.  He was the seventh oldest of the ten children.  He died as an infant at 4 months old in December 1799 in Almondbury.  His burial was on December 31st, 1799 in Almondbury.1 1
