James Stocks

James was born in September 1793 in Berry Brow and his christening took place on September 23rd, 1793 in Almondbury.¹²

James' father was Samuel Stocks and his mother was Sally (Sarah) Brook. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Stocks and Elizabeth Perkin. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named George, Samuel, Molly, Salomey, Ruth, Martha, Sarah, Ellen and Elizabeth. He was the second oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 59 on January 28th, 1853 in Honley. His burial was on February 3rd, 1853 in Honley.³³
