James Moorhouse Stocks

James was born in 1824 in Honley and his baptism took place there on April 4th, 1824.¹²

James' father was James Stocks and his mother was Esther Moorhouse. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Stocks and Sally (Sarah) Brook. He had five sisters named Ann, Mary, Charlotte, Sarah and Esther. He was the second oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 84 in March 1908 in London.³
