Sarah Stocks

Sarah was born on June 8th, 1805 in Berry Brow and her baptism took place on July 19th, 1805 in High St. Chapel Methodist New Connexion.¹

  Daughter of Sam'l Stocks Mason of Berry Brow in the parish of Almondbury by Sarah Brook daughter of Thomas Brook, Clothier of Lockwood in the parish of Almondbury.

Sarah's father was Samuel Stocks and her mother was Sally (Sarah) Brook. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Stocks and Elizabeth Perkin. She had three brothers and six sisters, named James, George, Samuel, Molly, Salomey, Ruth, Martha, Ellen and Elizabeth. She was the sixth oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 39 in January 1845 in Upperthong. Her burial was on January 7th, 1845 in Honley.²
