Eileen was born in June 1908 in Birkenhead.¹

Birth Notes

Eileen's father was Herbert Dutton Mercer and her mother was Mary Moutray. Her paternal grandparents were John Robert Mercer and Emily Anne Herring. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Henry, John, Gerald, Herbert, Alexander, Mona, Alice, Emily and Dorothy. She was the fifth oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 6 in 1914.
