Mary was born in 1828 in Lancashire.1   Mary's father was Thomas Dutton and her mother was Mary Ellison.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Dutton and Elizabeth (Betty) Bebbington; her maternal grandparents were John Ellison and Mary Whitley. She had five brothers and three sisters, named John, Joseph, Thomas, Thomas, William, Betty, Ann and Sarah.  She was the third oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 36 on January 13th, 1864 in Liverpool.  She was buried in June 1864 at the Walton Park Cemetary.1 1

‌Mary and George were married in a religious ceremony on April 14th, 1850 at St. Peter (Liverpool) witnessed by Joseph Dutton (brother) and Mary Leyland.1   They had five sons and two daughters, named John, George, William, Joseph, Thomas, Hannah and Sarah.  There are no more children.
