Thomas was born in 1835 in Warrington and his baptism took place on November 22nd, 1835 at St. Elphin (Warrington).1   Thomas' father was Thomas Dutton and his mother was Mary Ellison.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Dutton and Elizabeth (Betty) Bebbington; his maternal grandparents were John Ellison and Mary Whitley. He had four brothers and four sisters, named John, Joseph, Thomas, William, Mary, Betty, Ann and Sarah.  He was the seventh oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 80 in 1915 in Bucklow.1
