William Mather

William was born in 1819 in Westhoughton and his baptism took place on March 21st, 1819 at St. Bartholomew (Westhoughton).¹²

  There appears to be no Baptism record for William, but its very likely he is the son of Jeffery and Catherine, with both (unusual in these times) parents names used for children.
  
  Also, in 1851 William and Mary had their niece Cathring and her daughter living with them.

William's father was Geffrey (Jeffery) Mather and his mother was Catherine Gregory. His paternal grandparents were William Mather and Mary Green. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Joseph, John, Edward, Ellen, Ellen, Alice, Ann and Mary. He died after 1891 in Westhoughton.³
