Thomas Mather

Thomas was born in September 1819 in Blackrod and his baptism took place on September 12th, 1819 at St. Katherine (B'rod).¹

Thomas' father was Thomas Mather and his mother was Hannah (Ann) Holt. His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Ann Entwistle. He had two brothers and two sisters, named John, Henry, Alice and Hannah. He was the fourth oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 58 on July 12th, 1878 in Blackrod. His burial was on July 15th, 1878 at St. Katherine (B'rod).²

  The Will of Thomas Mather late of Little Scotland, in the Parish of Blackrod in the County of Lancaster, Gentleman, who died 12 July 1878 at Blackrod was proved at Manchester by Thomas Mather Coal Miner the son and Thomas Bentham Grocer, both of Blackrod the Esecutors.
