Susannah was born in 1826 in Bolton.1  Susannah's father was James Mather and her mother was Catherine Rawsthorn or ROSTRON.  Her paternal grandparents were <unknown> and Jane Mather. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Peggy, Henry, James, William, Jane, Lavinia and Lavinia.  She was the oldest of the eight children.
