Peggy was born in 1828 in Bolton and her baptism took place on September 29th, 1833 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1  Peggy's father was James Mather and her mother was Catherine Rawsthorn or ROSTRON.  Her paternal grandparents were <unknown> and Jane Mather. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Henry, James, Susannah, Jane, Lavinia and Lavinia.  She was the third oldest of the seven children.
