Sarah was born on May 31st, 1828 in Radcliffe and her baptism took place on July 6th, 1828 at St. Mary (Radcliffe).1  Sarah's father was Thomas Mather and her mother was Mary Taylor.  Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Mary Melling. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, James, Alice, Eliza, Martha, Hannah and Elizabeth.  She was the second oldest of the eight children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named James and Mary.  She died at 11 months old in April 1829 in Radcliffe.  Her burial was on April 10th, 1829 at St. Mary (Radcliffe).2
