Elizabeth was born on March 9th, 1838 in Radcliffe and her baptism took place on April 18th, 1838 at St. Mary (Radcliffe).1 2  Elizabeth's father was Thomas Mather and her mother was Mary Taylor.  Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Mary Melling. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, James, Alice, Sarah, Eliza, Martha and Hannah.  She was the seventh oldest of the eight children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named James and Mary.  She died at 1 months old on April 26th, 1838 in Radcliffe.  Her burial was on April 26th, 1838 at St. Mary (Radcliffe).3 4
