Olive's father was Samuel Mather and her mother was Violet Aspden. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Mather and Sarah Ann Williams. She was an only child.

- 5 Apr 1924, Samuel and Violet (43 & 44) and daughter Olive (13) of 33 Turton Road, Bolton travelled to Halifax, Canada on the Cunard ship Ausonia.
  
  13 Aug 1932, Samuel and Violet (51 & 52) and daughter Olive (24) of 23 Woolman Rd off Ribble Street, Blackpool, a dairyman, arrived at Liverpool from Montreal, Canada.
  
  In 1939, Olive married Harry E Williams at Conway.
  
  In 1939, Olive and Harry were living in Penmaenmawr, Caernarvonshire, Wales with her parents.
